Others to arrive 11.30am and depart 3pm

Heads, Deputies, Science Leads, SENDCOs and enrichment leads are invited to an open day to see what Nethercott has to offer. Guests will get to experience our three pledges first hand, opening their eyes to the possibilities of learning outside the classroom.

The day is aimed at Year 4 and 5 teachers and will be held at our farm at Nethercott House, Devon. It will explore aspects of the science curriculum, specifically Y5, life cycles in humans/plants and animals and Y4, living things and their habits.

Groups will focus on what these parts of the curriculum really look like on the farm and how to revisit the characteristics of effective learning through enrichment and inspiration. Other sessions will showcase methods deepening levels of understanding of nutrition beyond what is required by the curriculum and examine some of the ways in which Outdoor Learning supports the growth of keen, enthusiastic and able learners by promoting SEMH and wellbeing as the foundations of resilience.
