Farmers for a week
benefits for life
Since Farms for City Children was founded in 1976, over 100,000 children and young people have taken home the benefits of being farmers for a week.
Our immersive residentials embed invaluable connections with nature, food and farming. We provide a wealth of new experiences that young people can draw on to support their emotional wellbeing and resilience, alongside growing transferable life skills and self-expectations. We lead by example through nature-friendly, regenerative and sustainable farming practices and provide a practical introduction to higher animal welfare standards.
Our aim is to provide a week of learning and nurture that empowers young people to leave us as curious, courageous and compassionate citizens.

Impact reports
Our annual impact reports set out what we’ve achieved as a charity and the difference this has made to the children and young people who visit us. They summarise our achievements within that year, as well as looking ahead to the future.
We have had a huge push at school discussing sustainability with the children. I now can see how through their engagement, question and inquisitive nature they are gaining a greater understanding.
