Chief Executive Donna Edmonds to step down in March 2025

Donna Edmonds, our Chief Executive, has announced that she will be stepping down at the end of March to take on a new role in the charity sector.

Donna joined us in January 2022, initially leading our recovery from the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. During her time with us, the charity has gone from strength to strength, extending the reach of our work and increasing both the number and breadth of our beneficiaries.

Donna said: “It has been an enormous privilege for me to lead Farms for City Children for the last three years. In this time, we have enabled thousands of children and young people from a diverse range of backgrounds to reap the profound and lasting benefits of a week on one of our farms.

“So much has been achieved, and I am immensely proud of our team and all that we have delivered together for our visiting children, their families, their teachers, and for our wider network through our campaigning and advocacy work. As I move on to a new role, I do so with great pride and many fond memories. I will eagerly watch from afar, observing the continuing success of the organisation that I hold so dear to my heart.”

Rachel Goult, our Chair of Trustees, said: “On behalf of our Board of Trustees and everyone at Farms for City Children, I would like to extend our grateful thanks to Donna for her dedicated leadership of the charity over the last three years. Her commitment and energy have enabled us to increase our reach and impact, creating a strong platform that will ensure that even more young people benefit from inspirational outdoor learning opportunities in the future.

“We are immensely appreciative of everything she has achieved for Farms for City Children and wish her all the very best in her new role.”

The process of recruiting a new Chief Executive is now underway, with Donna, our Trustees and senior leadership team working closely together to ensure smooth transition over the coming months.
