Join us to mark the beginning of our 50th anniversary year with a very special evening at Exeter Cathedral, celebrating the beauty of the British countryside through words and music. This special concert, My Heart Was a Tree, features our founders Sir Michael Morpurgo and Clare Morpurgo alongside one of our founding trustees, Carol Hughes, widow of poet Ted Hughes. They will be accompanied by the talented Iddesleigh String Quartet.
The audience can look forward to readings from Michael’s acclaimed book My Heart Was a Tree, paired with the Ted Hughes poem that inspired its title. The evening will also feature exquisite music by Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, Haydn and Max Richter.
Date & time: Tuesday, 27 January 2026 | 7pm-8:15pm, doors open at 6:30pm
Location: Exeter Cathedral, EX1 1HS

All proceeds will support Exeter Cathedral and Farms for City Children. The event is kindly supported by Rathbones.
