Creating change together
Grants
Grants from charitable trusts and foundations play a vital role in enabling young people from underserved communities to experience a transformative week on one of our farms. Our immersive residentials raise self-expectations, cultivate a sense of environmental citizenship and create an invaluable connection with nature, food and farming. We provide a wealth of new experiences that young people can draw on to support their emotional wellbeing and resilience, alongside developing transferable life skills.
We work with grant funders to explore the areas of our work that are most important to you and where your gift or grant can have the most impact. Whether you’re making a one-off or multi-year gift, your support will provide opportunities for young people to thrive thanks to a week on our farms. To find out how your programme could make a difference, please contact our grants team.
Major gifts
We are extremely grateful for gifts of any size; they all make a difference to young people’s lives. Here at Farms for City Children, we define received or pledged gifts of £5,000 or more from individuals as major gifts. We’ll work with you to explore the areas of our work that are most important to you and where you can have the most impact, whether you are supporting us through a one-off gift or multi-year funding.
There are many ways you can give too, including donor-advised funds, proceeds from legacies and match funding campaigns. Whichever way you choose to donate, you’ll be supporting young people to benefit from connecting with food, farming, nature and themselves, both now and in the future.

Children have all grown in confidence and also had the opportunity to just be children! It has been amazing to see our children in a different environment without technology. Our children rarely get the opportunity to experience and appreciate the outdoors and environment around them. Being here, the children have embraced the outdoors and have learned how they play a big part in being responsible for caring for it.
County Bridge Primary School
Walsall

“The children were constantly learning about the natural world and the world of farming. You simply cannot replicate this hands on experience in a classroom.
Fuelled by fresh, farm produced food, we’ve had a magical and memorable experience that the children will look back on fondly as part of their primary school journey.”
St John’s and St Clement’s CofE Primary School
Southwark

“First, I overcame my fears of the things I didn’t want to do, and learnt all the things I wanted to about the farm!
Also, I got to know more about everyone and everything, I really enjoyed it here.”
