Partner spotlight: Terraverde visits Wick Court

We were delighted to welcome Morgan (Marketing and Operations Manager at Terraverde) to Wick Court this spring for a hands-on introduction to farm life and the work they have supported.

Terraverde is a new UK charity championing climate-adaptive and social impact projects — from carbon capture to nature breaks for children. Their mission to foster hope, education and collaboration makes them a natural partner for Farms for City Children and we’re proud to be one of their founding charity partners.

Here’s what Morgan shared after her visit:

At Terraverde, we thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Wick Court, where we experienced the farm in full swing and saw many happy faces engaging with nature while learning about life on the farm. As a foundation, we’re inspired by the work being carried out by the Farms for City Children team, who encourage children to explore, learn, and play in natural environments.

During our visit, we met a school group who had travelled from Manchester and joined in with the daily activities, such as harvesting vegetables and tasting fresh produce, tending to pigs, poultry, and ponies, den building, and woodland crafts.

From nurturing green spaces to caring for wildlife, we share the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to connect with the outdoors and thrive.

Well done to Farms for City Children for the brilliant work you do.

Their grant is helping us deliver residential stays for children and young people across England and Wales — connecting children with food, farming and the natural world.

We’d like to say a huge thank you for their support.
