A golden birthday celebration

A golden birthday celebration

Yesterday, visiting children and teachers joined our staff and volunteers at all three farms for a very special celebration – Farms for City Children’s 50th birthday!

At Nethercott House, where our story first began, we were delighted to welcome our founders, Clare and Michael Morpurgo, as guests of honour. After delicious birthday cakes and plenty of cheerful chatter in Devon, Gloucestershire and Pembrokeshire, children at Lower Treginnis and Wick Court joined a magical storytime with Michael via video – a very special shared moment across all three farms.

It was an unforgettable day, made possible by the dedication and creativity of our incredible farm teams.

Michael captured the spirit of our anniversary year beautifully: “My best story ever is this one, I’ll tell you why, because it hasn’t ended. There is no full stop.”

The best birthday present you can give us this year is your support. Please take a moment to find out more about all the different ways you can Support Us. Together, we can create fifty more golden years of Farms for City Children.
