This autumn and winter, we’re opening the gates to Nethercott House for two special events, giving visitors a rare opportunity to explore our original Devon farm.
Step into the story of Nethercott House
On 5 November, join us for a guided tour of the house and farm, a walk down Burrow Lane and a traditional Devon cream tea overlooking Dartmoor. It’s a chance to discover the story of Farms for City Children and visit one of the places that inspired Michael Morpurgo’s heart-warming memoir, Down Burrow Lane.
- Date: Thursday 5 November
- Tour times: 11am – 1pm or 2.30pm – 4.30pm
- £20 per ticket, confessions available. Booking is essential, tickets available on the TryBooking website.
Goose on the Loose Christmas Trail
In December, our Goose on the Loose Christmas Trail brings a flock of hand-decorated geese to Nethercott House, alongside a pop-up Stable Gallery and a free festive event on 18 December featuring illuminated geese, live music, food and drink and local stalls.
- Pop-up Stable Gallery open: Tuesday 15 – Thursday 17 December, 10am – 3pm
- The Festive Event: Friday 18 December 4pm – 8.30pm
- Free entry
Whether you’re revisiting a place that holds special memories or discovering Nethercott House for the first time, we’d love to welcome you. All proceeds from the events will go towards helping more children and young people benefit from being farmers for a week.
